Airline Safety Assessment Mechanism

Airline Scope utilises the Airline safety assessment mechanism (ASAM) as published by the International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (IOGP). The latest version is Issue 418, released in December 2016.

Since 2001, the IOGP has held a number of workshops with the goal of developing and maturing a mechanism for assessing the safety of scheduled commercial airlines. A working group has compiled this data into a working system, which is currently at version 3.0, and is available for third party use in their online book store.

Airline Scope is an easy-to-use implementation of this mechanism designed for individuals and businesses world wide. Parts of the mechanism are displayed under the appropriate sub-header inside every airline's assessment.


Airline Scope is not affiliated with the International Association of Oil & Gas Producers. Airline Scope uses the ASAM devised by the IOGP to perform airline risk assessments. Any deviations from the mechanism will be noted when necessary.
